Children's Arena
155 Arena St · L1J 7B1
No ice
The building is open and rentable, but the ice has been taken out. Hockey is not scheduled here. NO ICE. The building operates, but as a dry pad only. The City's own words: 'Children's Arena is a single pad arena (180'x 80') that operates as a dry pad, year-round', and its arena-rentals page lists the building as 'Children's Arena (floor only)'. The conversion happened in 2016 and a decade later the Region of Durham's Community Services layer and StatCan ODRSF still type it as an arena. is_operating: false is being used here to mean 'do not schedule ice', not 'demolished' - the distinction s.8.13 and s.8.24 ask the schema for. Kept as a row rather than omitted, because silently omitting it is exactly how it keeps re-entering the pipeline from open data.
