The building is open and rentable, but the ice has been taken out. Hockey is not scheduled here. CLOSED as an ice surface after the 2010/2011 season - a City of Kenora council document records 'a mere four weeks of actual operation in 2010/2011' before closure. The building still stands and was converted to the 'Kenora SportsPlex', an indoor artificial-turf multi-sport facility with NO ice. Meaning of is_operating here is CLOSED (not 'planned') - see CONTRACT.md section 8.13. Kenora had three ice arenas before this consolidation: Kenora Recreation Centre, Keewatin Memorial Arena and Jaffray Melick Arena, per a 2003 City facility directory.
